MANILA, Philippines — Both ropes used to pull the andas or the carriage carrying the image of Jesus Nazareno toward Quiapo Church have already snapped, the Nazareno Command Center said Thursday.
Article continues after this advertisementAccording to the command center, the first rope used to pull the andas already snapped as early as Thursday morning when it crossed Finance Road toward Ayala Boulevard.

“And tonight two ropes are gone,” he added.

The aviation giant must “reset our workforce levels to align with our financial reality,” Chief Executive Kelly Ortberg said, adding that the cuts of 17,000 positions globally “will include executives, managers and employees.”
“It is confirmed that there are no longer ropes pulling the carriage, and it is now being pushed,” the command center said, as quoted by Cabrito.
Article continues after this advertisementThe procession started at around 4:41 a.m., with the carriage containing the original image of Jesús Nazareno departing from the Quirino Grandstand to head to the Quiapo Church.
This year’s procession seems to be taking longer than the previous years, as the “dungaw” or the solemn moment shared between the images of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel de San Sebastian and Jesus Nazareno at the Minor Basilica of San Sebastian was held at around 5:45 p.m.
