MANILA, Philippines — Three people have reportedly died due to noncommunicable diseases (NCDs), including stroke, acute coronary syndrome, and bronchial asthma, the Department of Health (DOH) said on Monday.
According to the DOH, two of the three individuals died due to stroke while the other death was caused by myocardial infarction.

Of this figure, 62 were acute coronary syndrome cases, 63 were bronchial asthma cases, and 103 were acute stroke.
slots 777Article continues after this advertisementThe DOH said they are monitoring these cases, especially during this holiday season due to a series of celebrations and health risks from firecrackers’ smoke.
“The agency also emphasizes the importance of heart and lung care—exercise daily, avoid eating fatty, sweet, and overly salty foods and avoid excessive alcohol consumption. Avoid smoky places especially with gunpowder. Maintain the correct treatment or maintenance medicines,” the agency told the public in Filipino.
