MANILA, Philippines — Quezon City 2nd District Rep. Ralph Tulfo apologized after his vehicle was spotted on the Edsa busway.

Only buses, responding emergency vehicles, and some high-ranking officials — including the president, vice president, House speaker, and chief justice — are allowed to use the lane.

“I sincerely apologize to the public, especially those inconvenienced and affected by the recent incident related to my vehicle, which passed through the Edsa bus lane,” Tulfo said in Filipino in a statement on Tuesday.

“I just want to make it clear that there was no mention or use of the name of anyone in the position. There was no abuse of authority to escape accountability or be acquitted in this incident,” Tulfo explained.
